Introducing WellSpaces

A cornerstone of our work: school rooms designed to calm and regulate the nervous system, so students can return to learning and staff can sustain their care.

Healing spaces, or what we call a "WellSpace" in Orange County, incorporate trauma-informed and biophilic design — principles that strengthen our connection to the natural environment. They feature comfortable furniture, calming colors and forms, elements of nature, and evidence-based activities that promote wellness under the supervision of dedicated school staff.

01

Healing environments

Trauma-informed and biophilic design techniques create calming spaces for students and staff.

02

Increased access to care

Meeting children and families where they are, with school-based education, prevention, and early intervention.

03

Fewer acute escalations

Identifying students early and connecting them with school-based mental health professionals reduces avoidable use of critical services.

04

Community-wide capacity

Equipping students, parents, educators, and staff with the knowledge, tools, and resources to support pediatric wellness.

A WellSpace in every middle and high school.

Our team supports every WellSpace launch — school coordination, site preparation, installation, and most importantly, design — in collaboration with the Orange County Department of Education and Rady's Children's Health's mental health team.
